Grooved acoustic wall panels

PET VG panels are 9 mm recycled-PET acoustic sheets with V-grooves cut into the face on our CNC line. They give a wall the fluted or patterned look that is popular in Indian interiors while absorbing sound like a plain PET panel (2400 × 1200 mm (8 × 4 ft), 9 mm thick, NRC 0.75–0.85, fire rated Class A/B to ASTM E-84).

  • PET VG-1: wave pattern on a 300 mm grid.
  • PET VG-2: quarter-circle arcs, straight and diagonal lines on a 400 mm grid.
  • PET VG-3: interlocking elongated hexagons crossed by vertical lines.

Every pattern is available in all 48 colours, and we can cut custom groove patterns from your drawing.

Frequently asked questions

Are fluted panels acoustic?

Most fluted wall panels are MDF or WPC and reflect sound. A grooved PET panel looks similar but is made of sound-absorbing felt, so it reduces echo as well as decorating the wall.

What is a PET acoustic panel?

A PET acoustic panel is a felt board made from compressed polyester (PET) fibre, much of it recycled from plastic bottles. Its open fibre structure absorbs sound instead of reflecting it, which cuts echo and reverberation in a room. A 9 mm Numobel PET sheet has an NRC of 0.75–0.85, meaning it absorbs roughly 75–85% of the sound that reaches it.

Acoustic panels vs soundproofing: what is the difference?

Acoustic panels treat the sound inside a room: they reduce echo so speech and music sound clearer. Soundproofing stops sound passing between rooms and needs mass and airtight construction (walls, doors, windows). Most offices, studios, classrooms and home theatres need acoustic treatment first.

How many acoustic panels do I need?

As a starting point, cover 15–25% of the wall area of a meeting room or home theatre, and 25–40% of a large open office, hall or restaurant (walls and ceiling together). One 8 × 4 ft sheet covers about 2.98 m² (32 sq ft). Send us your room size on WhatsApp and we will suggest a layout.

How are PET acoustic panels installed?

Sheets are fixed to a wall with adhesive or double-sided tape, or screwed to a frame, and cut on site with a sharp knife. They can also be used as false-ceiling tiles or pinboards. PET does not shrink, stretch or grow mould in humid weather.
